Imogene Cathey: As a student of political science and secondary education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Imogene Cathey was an active member of the Hatchett Pre-Law Society. Ms. Cathey’s honors included the Florida Education Fund Minority Pre-Law Scholarship, Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship, and the Golden Key National Honor Society. After earning her bachelor of arts with summa cum laude distinction, Imogene Cathey relocated to Gainesville to pursue her juris doctor at the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law (UF). A UF legal writing teaching assistant and a criminal law teaching fellow, Imogene Cathey was also active with the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity and the Black Law Students Association. Upon graduation with honors, Imogene Cathey litigated various complex employment and business disputes on behalf of public and private employers (including the University of South Florida).

Imogene Cathey specializes in higher education law and currently provides legal advice and support as deputy general counsel. Previously, Imogene Cathey served as an assistant general counsel at the University of Florida.

Imogene Cathey is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and Florida.
